"She was unwanted at birth. The daughter of a brutal King who appointed himself atop a religion and slashed his way through six queens in search of a male heir. Through the betrayals and murders, Mary Tudor would rise above all others vying for the crown to become England’s first Queen regnant. She answered to no man; she ruled alone. But the scars of her empty childhood endured and tyranny of her reign matched her father’s. As did her obsessions. Her desperation for a male heir would give her two phantom pregnancies but no child. And her quest for a purified religion of England would lead to hundreds dead by her command. It was this bloodshed that would earn her the moniker that would last forever. They called her… Bloody Mary."
